Baby Jarom

August 21, 2011

We realize it’s a little late, but we’re posting anyways.  About a month ago we welcomed our second child.  As expected, we’ve got a lot of pictures of the little guy and will be posting more later.  Thanks to our sister-in-laws for helping us document the whole thing.

So we need to apologize for not diligently posting like we used to.  We promise that we’ll be more consistent.  One of the reasons we’ve been so busy (aside from the New Year, resolutions, our son turning 2, family get togethers, work, etc.) is that we’ve been preparing for the arrival of our second child *applause* *laughter* *shouts of joy*.

Being the cute mother that she is (and the great artist), Celena decided that she wanted to take these pictures when she was 20 weeks along (half way through).  She struggled getting Kevin to vision the shot she wanted, but she was extremely patient.  As we were taking these pictures, our cute little Kaniela decided that he needed to join in.  The picture with his little hand was completely random and we’re so grateful for the continuous shooting features of our camera and Kevin’s lightning fast reflexes.  However, Kaniela kissing baby took a little bit of coaching.  Needless to say, we’re pretty excited about the coming addition to the Kukui Studio family.  We can’t wait to plaster his cute little mug all over this photoblog.

These two are best buds.  They’re both cute on their own, but when you get them together, it is absolutely hilarious and they are so much fun to watch.  Jude is about one month older than Kaniela and they’ve been playing together since they were just little babies (thanks to their Mommies who are great friends).  These were taken at a play-date a couple of weeks ago.  As they grow up I’m sure that they’ll be many more photo ops like this.

Spring Day in the Park

April 15, 2010

I love the fact that the weather is starting to warm up.  I serve in the youth organization of our local church congregation, and tonight for an activity we had a BBQ at the neighborhood park.  My family decided that we would go early and let Kaniela run around.  What I didn’t realize, is that he is now a professional on the swings.  It was so cute to watch him, and we just had to capture it.  Today was also my last day at my current job, so it’s been a pretty surreal day thinking about where I’ve been and where I’m going.  In light of this time of transition, the chaos of our quick move and the nerves (and excitement) of starting a new job, watching Kaniela was just what I needed to relax my mind a bit.  I think these photographs really capture the mood and the feelings I had while watching my little boy.

Kaniela’s First Easter

April 4, 2010

Easter weekend is always a fun time for our family.  Celena’s birthday falls around Easter weekend, so nearly every year that we’ve been married we’ve spent the weekend with her family in northern Utah.  We love so much to be around family and this year was especially fun because of Kaniela.  Last Easter Kaniela was just a newborn and didn’t really comprehend the festivities of time.  This year, he got together with a few of his cousins to be inducted into the tradition of the Easter Egg Hunt.  As you can tell from the photographs above, Kaniela had a blast.

Celena made both Kaniela’s Easter shirt and his Easter basket.  Since becoming a stay-at-home Mom, she has had a great desire to pick up hobbies (photography obviously being one of them).  This was her first shirt she’s sewed.  We think that she did a great job and are pretty proud of how studly Kaniela looks with his shirt and what turned out to be his Easter satchel.

Boy Butts and Boy Boots

February 7, 2010

Today was the first Saturday in a long time that we didn’t really have anything to do.  We woke up this morning and decided, “We should spend the day taking pictures with Kaniela.”  We hadn’t taken any official one-year-old pictures yet, and so we thought that today would be a good day.

The pictures above were taken in the morning in Kaniela’s playroom.  It was just one of those mornings where he was so playful and so cute.  He was having so much fun in his room, and we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take these photographs!  I love how nearly every moment with this child can be a photo-op.

Below are some photographs we took at the Provo Library.  It had rained yesterday and warmed up quite a bit today.  Kaniela had so much fun, and we think that these pictures came out so cute!  We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

A day of pictures

February 6, 2010

We decided that we’re going to go take Kaniela’s one-year pictures today.  We started this morning in his playroom.  It’s going to be a good day!  We’ll post more later!
